Our school workshops and projects are one of our most popular services.  

The PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD workshop has visited well over 150 primary schools in Ireland over the last few years.  In this workshop we demonstrate over 50 ethnic percussion instruments with information about where they come from, what they are made from, how they are played and many other interesting facts about them like the many uses they have had in many different cultures over the years.  The children all get to play at least one of the instruments and the workshop is very educational, and entertaining. If you would like a brochure about this workshop, just send us an e-mail with you school address and we'll drop one in the post for you, or if you want to book a visit to your school just call 087/9151134.

The above workshop is a great introduction to some of our other projects such as the slightly more intensive PREPERATION FOR PERFORMANCE projects where the children ( 3rd class upwards ) study and learn a specific piece of African percussion music, and then perform the piece at a school concert, or other school celebration or open day. This is a wonderful project bringing the children together to create a percussion sound scape that would liven up any occasion.  Again just e-mail or call for more details.

We also work using the medium of rhythm and drumming, with special needs and slow learner children.  In our PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMMES, we work with children to help improve areas of their lives such as CONFIDENCE, CONCENTRATION, FOCUSING, MOTOR SKILLS, ANGER  and ANXIETY CONTROL, TEMPO CONTROL, ATTENTION SPAN, INTERACTION and GENERAL INTERPERSONAL and SOCIAL SKILLS.  These programmes are more often one on one projects, and with parents and teacher consent can be set up for after school hours. DRUM CIRCLE FUN AND GAMES

A more hands-on,interactive project.

"DRUM CIRCLE FUN AND GAMES" is an interactive activity rather than a workshop. As the name suggests, the children sit in a circle and play percussion rhythms and games together, in a one hour session of energy, fun and learning.

The drumming and rhythm activities are designed to help the children develop skills such as CREATIVITY,GROUP TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, MOTOR SKILLS,SOCIAL INTERACTION,SELF-ESTEEM ETC.
